Welcome to the TAKE PART category of our database.
This is for everything else! The list range from grassroots projects, global campaigns, fashion shows and local environment centres. All of which have done something within fashion and sustainability. This is mostly a place where those involved in sustainability can go to get more information. This is not just for Wales as large UK campaigns will also be featured here. It’s kind of like a “we recommend” section…
FASHION REVOLUTION (GLOBAL): Fashion Revolution is a global movement calling for greater transparency, sustainability and ethics in the fashion industry. We want to unite the fashion industry and ignite a revolution to radically change the way our clothes are sourced, produced and purchased, so that what the world wears has been made in a safe, clean and fair way. Fashion Revolution was created following the Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh on 24th April 2013. Fashion Revolution Week takes place during that anniversary. It is now a global campaign, which unites people from all around the world who make the fashion industry work. We are the people who wear clothes. And we are the people who make them. http://www.fashionrevolution.org @Fash_RevFRIENDS OF THE EARTH CYMRU: Friends of the Earth Cymru was set up in 1984, 13 years after Friends of the Earth’s foundation in the UK in 1971, to focus on campaigning in Wales on environmental issues. Friends of the Earth Cymru is dedicated to promoting the environment and promoting a sustainable future for Wales. We are a small team based in Cardiff who are: Part of the UK’s most influential environmental campaigning organisation; part of the most extensive environmental network in the world, with over 75 national organisations across five continents; supporting a unique network of campaigning local groups working in communities across Wales; dependent upon individuals for over 90 per cent of its income. http://www.foe.cymru INSTA @FOECymru TW/FB @FOECymruCyddFRIENDS OF THE EARTH UK: The first images of Earth from space inspired a movement of people who wanted to protect the only planet we have to call home. It looked beautiful yet vulnerable. Friends of the Earth stands with anyone who cares about the world we live in, whether you’re a first time supporter or a seasoned campaigner. We work with local groups, experts, business leaders and politicians. And we push for change on causes that matter to you: Protecting your home and local environment. Promoting safe and healthy food and water everywhere. Supporting alternative energy solutions that can change the world for the better for everyone. http://www.friendsoftheearth.uk INSAT/TW @Friends_Earth FB @FriendsoftheEarthLOVE YOUR CLOTHES: Launched in 2014, the Love Your Clothes campaign has been developed together with industry organisations to help change the way the UK consumers buy, use and dispose of their clothing. The ultimate aim is to reduce the environmental impact of clothing across the UK and influence a more circular approach to clothing globally. Love Your Clothes is part of the Sustainable Clothing Action Plan (SCAP), which is coordinated by WRAP, a not-for-profit organisation which receives Government support across the UK. Their website also has a directory of many organisations who offer sewing skills in Wales and the UK. http://www.loveyourclothes.org.uk INSTA/FB @LoveYourClothesUK TW @LoveYourClothesRADICAL FASHION WEEK: Brought to you by the Sustainable Studio and taking place during Fashion Revolution Week this sustainable fashion show based in Cardiff aims to celebrate the amazing talent we have here in Wales.
