FFIBRAU Y GWYR:
Ffibrau Y Gwyr or Fibres of the Gower is a not-for-profit social enterprise partnership.
We aim to educate, demonstrate and share our passion for heritage crafts and Welsh manufacturing. We are Tasha Middleton of Sew Swansea fame, a local and talented textile artist and Rachel Broughton a local fibre artist and all round textile enthusiast. Together we are ‘Ffibrau Y Gwyr’ or ‘Fibres of Gower’.
We will be operating from Parkmill, the fantastic, recreated Woollen Mill at the heart of the Gower Heritage Centre on the Gower peninsular, close to the city of Swansea.
The Heritage Centre have recreated John Grant’s Woollen Mill dating from 1816. It is equipped with a truly awesome and fully functioning Dobcross Loom. We are also equipped with an array of floor looms, hand looms, as well as processing, carding, spinning and dyeing equipment.
